Latest and Greatest Pet Peeve

Have you ever been in a public place and had to deal with that annoying person on the cell phone? Had to listen to their "No I love YOU more."'s their swearing? Their bitching?

Well, I've found my new pet peeve....people who talk on their cell phones in inappropriate places.

We'll start with summer first.....

I first experienced inappropriate Cell Phone Usage (ICPU) while working at the Broadmoor. Since we get a lot of conferences and conventions, these guys stand outside during their breaks and beam calls back to the mother ship in order to get business done. It's really obnoxious when they're on a handsfree phone and ask a question. If you turn and answer them or look like you're ready to answer them, they look at you like you're dumb (Hello, I"m on a handsfree here...are you blind?) I'm so tired of these guys walking around, sharing their office issues on handsfree phones...seriously, if you're that lazy that you can't hold a cell phone to your ear, we need to re-evaluate your existance on this planet.

The next place I experience ICPU was here at school (yes, for all of you who didn't know, I'm back at EKU). The other day I was in the bathroom....FINISHING GIRLY BUSINESS THANK YOU VERY MUCH....When I hear this other person walk in. They are having a conversation with someone. I am not bothered by this since many people continue conversations with their friends in bathrooms if both parties need to go. However after I leave the stall I realize there is no one else in the bathroom for this individual to be talking to. Only one stall door is closed...as I walk by the conversation pauses and then continues. THIS CHICK WAS ON THE CELL PHONE WHILE ON THE CAN! Now I've heard of multi-tasking...hell, I've even managed to accmplish it on occaision...but NEVER ONCE have I felt the urge to carry out a phone conversation while I'm going pee.

Another instance of ICPU was displayed at the cafeteria when a young lady was trying to carry out a phone conversation AND manage to get her dinner. SHe was so inept that she held up the line and nearly dropped her phone in the gravey before telling the other party "hey, I'm trying to eat dinner...can I call you back in five minutes?"

Using the phone for in depth conversations while driving (yes, I am a culprit of this, especially since I drive a stick shift..)
Using the phone at a historical re-enactment WHEN YOU'RE IN COSTUME...
Libraries
Funerals
Weddings
School Class room settings
While you're working out (seen it done, found it annoying!)

There are more, but I just can't dwell on it right now.
SO here's a solution.....if a person calls at an inappropriate time for you, tell them you will call them back. If it's a do or die situation, tell them to talk fast.....especially if you have to pee, because personally when I"m doing my girly business, I don't want to deal with your business too.
